St Leonards Place unplugs for techtimeout tuesday

The team from St Leonards Place recently took some time offline and enjoyed screen-free fun for this year’s techtimeout tuesday.
We were proud to promote digital wellbeing in our workplace and encourage our employees to enjoy a healthier relationship with technology.
What is techtimeout tuesday?
techtimeout tuesday is the UK’s digital wellbeing awareness day and on Tuesday 28th November 2023 St Leonards Place joined hundreds of organisations across the UK to promote a better tech/life balance.
Excessive screen time can have a huge impact on our health and wellbeing with the average UK hybrid worker reportedly spending more than 12 hours per day looking at screens.
techtimeout tuesday aims to raise awareness of the negative impact of screen time on our health and wellbeing, including burnout, anxiety, poor sleep, neck and eye strain, and inactive lifestyles, helping people to enjoy a healthier relationship with technology.
techtimeout tuesday at St Leonards Place
techtimeout tuesday was filled with fun as the team and residents took part in a long walk at the Cobtree Manor Park (see video below).
“We may have to exercise discipline to use the controls we have but we are not slaves to these devices unless we allow ourselves to become so.”
How do you say no to screen time?
Do it as a family.
1. Mealtime isn't screen-time. Put away the screens during meals, no matter where you're eating.
2. Homework and chores take priority over screens.
3. Turn screens off one hour before bedtime.
4. Bedrooms are screen-free zones. Keep the screens in a communal area.
